Nurse suspended after verbal attack on patient
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
A nurse from Prince Mshiyeni Hospital in the south of Durban is in hot water after she was filmed hurling verbal abuse at a patient lying in a hospital bed.
KZN Health says the nurse has been placed on suspension pending an investigation.
The department's HOD, Dr Sandile Tshabalala says the nurse went against the pledge by nurses to serve people and perform their duties with dignity.

Tshabalala says such behaviour is unacceptable and should be reported immediately.
"If the CEO cannot be found, there must be the number of the district manager of that district where the patient is. So, this is a proactive way of saying let these things be reported as soon as possible and we take steps like we are going with this one," he said.
