Damage in flood-hit Ladysmith 'still being assessed'
Updated | By Xolani Khumalo
Local government authorities in KwaZulu-Natal are still assessing the damage caused by severe storms and floods in Ladysmith and surrounding areas.

Dozens of people have been evacuated after their homes
became flooded over the weekend.
Cooperative Governance MEC Sipho Hlomuka spent time in Ladysmith on Tuesday to see the damage first hand.
He says around 150 people and more than 50 households have been affected.
Hlomuka's confirmed no deaths have been reported as a result of the heavy rains.
"With the leadership of the district and the local councillors we have been with them trying to get reports to understand the depth of the damage of the town but it's not only Ladysmith that has been affected. Inkosi Langalibalele and Bergville."
