TV personality Zuraida Jardine is proof that you are never too old to follow your dreams.

She took a big leap four years ago that has ended with her getting a psychology degree.

The 43-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a picture from her  University of Witwatersrand (Wits) graduation.

Zuraida, who already has a diploma in journalism, explained why she "decided on the crazy idea of becoming a psychologist".

"About 4 years ago, I woke one morning & decided that the time had come for my life to expand. For another reinvestment in myself. Life can be short, but life can also be long, I thought. I knew that if I was blessed with a long life I needed to make sure that the tapestry of my time continued to be enriched with growth, purposeful guidance & stories that never stopped. I’ve always had a keen interest in beautiful beings and what makes us uniquely ourselves," she wrote.

Zee added that she knew achieving her dream would not be easy, but she was up for the challenge.

"In order for this dream to materialise, it would take 7 years of being a full-time Student and to amass 3 Degrees, before I could even attempt to write my final board exam to practice... It was a high hope, a big ask and task to try to navigate the various roles in my life that I am director of. But here I am... only half way through, but only half way to go."

All her hard work has paid off.

"Today is a special day for me, a day I was almost reticent to celebrate, as I found myself focusing on the fact that I still had nearly 4 more years to go. But I stopped, went back to my breath and decided that today needs to be celebrated in its entirety - cause the truth is, many sacrifices have taken place in order for me to get my Psychology undergrad degree today," Zuraida added.

It's onwards and upwards for the former 'Big Brother South Africa' host, who plans on completing her Honours and Masters.

I reminded myself today to enjoy the journey, cause that’s all I’m guaranteed of right now. The destination will take care of itself. Thank you @josh_lindberg for your unwavering support with yet another dream of mine, thanks to my kids, who already talk in Wits jargon - cause they have only known me to be a student in their recent time & and thank you to all my girlfriends who have been understanding and accepting of my new found student life 👩🏻‍🎓 #Witsie #Graduation #InvestInThySelf 👩🏽‍🎓 i Hope my little story will inspire you, to know that you are capable of anything at any age 🙏🏽 28 March 2018
