Met Gala 2023: Trevor Noah, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian shine on the red carpet

South African comedian Trevor Noah joined A-list stars such as Kim Kardashian and Rihanna at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York for the 2023 Met Gala.

This year's event was in honour of late fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld. The German fashion designer died in 2019 at the age of 85. 

The theme, 'Karl Lagerfeld: A line of beauty', inspired some classic looks, with some stars even paying homage to the designer's beloved cat Choupette.

Trevor looked dashing in a suit designed by Thom Brown.

The former 'Daily Show' host also debuted a new look at the gala. He showed off his cornrows on the red carpet.

"Ok Trevor, we see you with the fresh cornrows and baby hair," one social media user commented on a post he shared on Instagram.

Kim Kardashian Met Gala

Despite several reports that the Kardashian-Jenner family had been banned from the 2023 Met Gala following a lukewarm appearance at last year's event, three members of the clan were spotted on the red carpet.

Kim Kardashian earned herself a spot on the best-dressed list with her Schiaparelli look. The 42-year-old was literally dripping in pearls on the red carpet.

Her little sister Kylie Jenner looked gorgeous in custom Jean Paul Gaultier.  

Kendall Jenner towered over her sisters in a sequinned Marc Jacobs bodysuit that she paired with eight-inch boots. 

Rihanna Met Gala

A heavily pregnant Rihanna attended the 2023 Met Gala with her partner, A$AP Rocky. The 35-year-old is expecting her second child with the rapper.

Rihanna turned heads in a white Valentino gown.

Best Dressed at the Met Gala

Tennis champ Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, announced they were expecting their second child at the Met Gala. 

"Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala," Serena captioned a picture from the event.

She wore a dress designed by Gucci.

Model Karlie Kloss also debuted her baby bump on the Met Gala red carpet. "Baby’s first Met," she wrote. 

Karlie wore a dress from Karl Lagerfeld’s Spring Summer 1983 collection.
