Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi's American press tour has seen her visiting shows such as 'Good Morning America'', 'Live With Kelly and Ryan' and the 'Tamron Hall Show'.

But her first week as the fairest in the universe could not end without a trip to 'The Daily Show' - which is hosted by fellow South African, Trevor Noah.

Zozibini looked gorgeous in a Jay Godfrey dress. The look was accessorised with the Miss Universe 'Power of Unity' crown

The Mouawad-designed crown is reportedly worth around R73-million.

The 26-year-old talked candidly about her road to the Miss Universe pageant. She told Trevor that she didn't let local and international criticism about her looks get her down.

Zoibini revealed that a man once referred to her as "Miss Black, Ugly South Africa".

“The further you are from being fair, the uglier you are. And I just saw it as an educational moment because I remember putting up a post speaking about it. Speaking about colourism, speaking about racism, speaking about people need to see things in order to start believing in them," she told Trevor.

The Eastern Cape beauty queen also revealed why she refused to wear a wig when she entered Miss South Africa and Miss Universe.

“This is my hair, I don’t think anyone tells other people to put on a weave so why should I? At first people were like, ‘Is this a strategy?’… I’ve had short hair for three years and I wasn’t going to change because I was now stepping into a beauty platform."

Here's a look at some of her other interviews.
