Augmented reality mobile game Pokemon Go has taken the world by storm, with millions of people eager to relive their childhood experiences.

However, not everything has gone according to plan for those immersing themselves in the game which requires you to make use of the world outside.

Pokemon Player Gets Poked... With A Knife

While out and about trying to catch your favourite Pokemon character, please be careful who you approach. Michael Baker from Forest Grove, USA was out in the early hours of the morning playing the game when he came across a stranger on a street corner. Instead of ignoring the man and moving on, Baker challenged him to a Pokemon battle, only to get more than he bargained for. The stranger stabbed Baker and ran off - not the battle he was expecting.

What is even more crazy is that Baker decided to play on despite being stabbed, only later opting to go to hospital. How is that for dedication? Or stupidity? We can't decide.

Don't Pokemon and Drive!

A man in New York, USA crashed his car into a tree while searching for Pokemon characters while behind the wheel. How stupid! We all know that using your cellphone while driving is extremely dangerous, but to play a game on your phone while driving is just ridiculous!

Auburn Police Chief Shawn Butler said in a statement: "The driver admitted to actively playing the 'Pokemon Go' game while driving causing him to become distracted and run off the roadway into a tree."

There have been other reports of car accidents directly linked to driving and playing the game. Can people just relax? Multitasking is not a good trait when in your car!

Pay Attention, Please!

A number of people have had their cellphones stolen from their hands while playing the game. The game requires quite a lot of concentration while trying to catch a Pokemon, so it is unlikely the victims were even aware of the presence of the criminal before it was too late. Have fun, but please be aware of what is around you!

This also applies to people walking around without looking. A 15-year-old girl in Pennsylvania was knocked over by a car because she had not realised that she walked into a road. The girl's mother admits that her daughter was so involved with the game that she had no idea a car was speeding towards her. Luckily the girl only sustained minor injuries.

This is Pokemon, Not The Walking Dead!

Finding a rare Pokemon must be quite the rush for players of the game. Finding a dead body while doing so must be quite the opposite. A woman in Riverton, USA experienced just that while seeking out a rare Pokemon. Scary!
