South African comedian Trevor Noah just bagged his next big deal. Spotify has announced that it is partnering with the 'Born A Crime' author on a new Original Podcast.

"The weekly podcast will blend Trevor’s signature humour and razor-sharp wit with his global perspective to deliver a unique take on the hottest and most captivating topics of the moment, " the audio streaming platform said in a statement.

Trevor's podcast will be dropping later this year, and will "feature in-depth and freewheeling conversations between Trevor and some of the most influential and interesting figures around the world".

"It’s really exciting to be joining Spotify on a fun new adventure where we’ll engage in interesting and meaningful conversations with some of the world’s most fascinating people. We’ll also probably fix every single issue humankind has ever faced so you definitely want to join us for every episode," Trevor said.

His podcast series will be available on numerous platforms.

Spotify co-founder and CEO, Daniel Ek, officially welcomed Trevor to the family during a conversation at the Spotify Beach event in Cannes, France.

"Welcome to Spotify @TrevorNoah! Excited for people to hear your new Spotify original podcast coming soon!" he tweeted on Tuesday.

Trevor will be heading to South Africa's shores soon. He is coming home for some shows taking place in August and September.

Most of the stand-up shows, which will be taking place in Durban, Cape Town, and Pretoria, have already sold out.

"Can't wait to come home!" he said in May.

2023 is shaping up to be a big year for Trevor. He won 'Best Web Personality/Host' at the 27th annual Webby Awards last month.

He also hosted the Grammys for a third time in February. One month later, he became the second comedian in history to win the Dutch Erasmus Prize.

Charlie Chaplin received the award in 1965.
