Somizi Mhlongo has called on South Africans to help support the street vendors.

Somizi shot a video of himself in Braamfontein supporting a local street vendor.

"So, basically I am encouraging people to help people who sell on the streets because there will be a lockdown for 21 days," he said.

He added that this is because they will have to stay at home and not be able to make money.

"I am doing my part and I am encouraging everyone to do their part. Street vendors first and support them and buy whatever you can that you need that you can also find at any other supermarket. The supermarkets are going to survive, they are not going to survive for 21 days," he said.
