Soapie star Joyce Skefu recovering after mild stroke

"I am doing therapies and getting better daily," says former 'Scandal!' star Joyce Skefu.

Veteran actress Joyce Skefu has revealed that she is recovering from a mild stroke. The soapie star shared the news on her Instagram page.

Joyce has been MIA on social media since January. She says she spent some time in the hospital as a result of her stroke. 

"Good morning my lovelies hope you [are] all well and kept by the grace of God. Ya life happens. I was quiet because I had a mild stroke got hospitalized but God did it again," she captioned a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed. 

Joyce is doing well and appears to be in good spirits. 

"I am doing therapies and getting better daily, but I sincerely thank you cause you were my strength even if did not know, Thank you for your amazing love."

Several stars took to the comments section to send Joyce well wishes. 

"Oh Mama. We love you. God is with you. We trust HIM for complete healing," fellow actress Gail Mabalane wrote. 

'The Queen' star Rosemary Zimu commented: "Sending healing strength & praying for your recovery queen."

Joyce is one of South Africa's most loved soapie stars. Her role as Doris Mokoena in 'Muvhango' made her a household name. Many still repeat her famous line, "you must never"/ "they must never". 

The role earned her several best actress nominations and awards. 

Joyce also played the role of Maletsatsi Khumalo in e.tv's popular soapie, 'Scandal!'. Maletsatsi graced our screens for more than a decade. 

Joyce has also made appearances in 'Abomama', 'Imposter', 'Lithapo', and 'Moipone'.
