'Real Housewives of Durban (RHODurban)' star Annie Mthembu is opening up about her personal life in a raw and uncut manner.

The 31-year-old sat down for an interview with 'Engineer Your Life' host Lungelo KM and talked about her relationship with her husband, businessman Kgolo Mthembu.

She also discussed her upbringing and some of the challenges she faced in her life.

Annie reveals that before she started dating her husband she was "scared of God".

"I know, it's such a strange thing. I had an abortion and that abortion made me ashamed to the point where I couldn't walk into church without crying. I couldn't face God, I didn't want to talk to Him, I wanted to hide from Him,” she said in the interview.

She says when she met her "highly spiritual husband" he encouraged her to "get in touch with God".

Annie says her husband met her when she was in a dark place and helped her get out of a toxic relationship.

“I told him one evening while we were at work.  I was crying, I couldn't work because I was so distraught and devastated by what was happening in my relationship. It was toxic, it was abusive, and this person cheated. It was so hurtful. Kgolo literally came and said, 'We're going to take you out of this space'," she said.

Annie poured cold water on rumours that her husband - who owns several nightclubs and restaurants - is cheating on her. The rumours were discussed on RHODurban and also in the tabloids.

She admits that they have "been through a lot of s***" because of the behaviours that she had to unlearn".

Dear wife

When God made you, HE must have given you the same strength he gave David when he killed Goliath. You are never scared to keep it real!

Your testimony awakens poignant sad memories but at the same it touches my soul in a positive way (and many of us can relate). I’ve have seen God Winking down upon you.

I’m super proud of you for being so brave to share your deep spiritual story.

The beauty about Gods Love is …HE wants you “To Come As You Are!” So we must never be too ashamed to surrender to HIM.

Thank you for reminding me that we just ordinary people and we never always had it all figured out. In fact we still don’t have it all figured out we are learning life lessons everyday.
