Pearl Thusi has revealed that she does not take the Grammys "too seriously".

Writing on Twitter, the socialite expressed how disappointed she was that Wizkid did not win a Grammy. Wizkid's 'Made in Lagos' album was nominated at the 64th Grammy Awards for Best Global Music Album. He lost to Angelique Kidjo's 'Mother Nature'.

Pearl says Wizkid losing is the reason she doesn't take the Grammys seriously.

"Wiz not winning a Grammy is just another reason I kinda don’t take the Grammy’s too seriously," she wrote on Twitter.

She says the Grammys are all about fun and status.

"It’s a celebratory/fun show with cool statues," she wrote on Twitter.

The actor added: "African artists have proved they don’t need them but they’re a nice to have. But also I could be wrong. That’s just me… all love."

She said although she was excited for Coffee, she is still disappointed that Wizkid didn't win.

"You’re so hectic. Really happy for him! The amount of work he’s put in is insane. As a South African- I’m so excited.

"As an African citizen I’m both happy and disappointed because they both deserved it imo . Very ambivalent about it," she wrote.

"Entlek some of y’all need to also admit y’all low key obsessed with me because WOW!!! I can’t cry about Wiz not winning a Grammy without it being an insult to someone else?!? Hhayi tsek!!!"

Jada Pollock, Wizkid's manager, has also expressed her disappointment at the Academy.

"When it's all said and done facts speak louder than a committee full of opinions. I'll just leave it here..." she wrote in a since deleted tweet.
