Nomzamo Mbatha and Thuso Mbedu make 'Black Hollywood Stars to Watch' list

Essence magazine has featured two of SA's top actresses on its 'Young Black Hollywood' list.

Trevor Noah is not the only South African flying South Africa's flag high in America. 

Actresses Nomzamo Mbatha and Thuso Mbedu are making big moves abroad and Hollywood is taking note. 

Popular US magazine, Essence, has included them on its list of 20 young stars to watch. 

They feature alongside entertainers such as 'Black-ish' actor Marcus Scribner and singers Chloe x Halle.

Both Nomzamo and Thuso have big international projects coming out in 2021. 

Nomzamo will star alongside Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, Wesley Snipes, and Garcelle Beauvais in the 'Coming 2 America' sequel.

Essence described her as having no bounds or limitations. Nomzamo shared a screenshot of the magazine's story on her Instagram page. 

"The work is the work is the work. Thank you for shining a light our way @essence," she wrote.

Two-time iEmmy nominee, Thuso, is playing a leading role in the upcoming US series,  ’The Underground Railroad' - which is directed by Oscar-winner, Barry Jenkins.

Thuso also made it onto Porter magazine's 'Names You Need to Known in 2021' list.
