Moonchild Sanelly's fans are sending her their love after she announced that she will be "off socials for a bit".

The South African musician revealed in a post shared on her Instagram page that she is only taking a brief break.

"I'm a little overwhelmed at the moment. Prolly switching phone off for a week. I need my sanity... It's a lil too much, to be honest," she wrote.

The singer's followers praised her for cutting back on her social media use as it can sometimes become a toxic environment.

"Love you for giving yourself space. You DESERVE IT!!" one woman wrote. A second person wrote: "Well done!! Go fetch your life sis! It’s yours alone after all!"

Some of Moonchild Sanelly's famous friends also sent her messages of support.

"I’m sorry my love. We are here for you," Lady Du wrote.

Afro-pop star Ammara Brown commented: "Take all the time you need love. Sending peaceful vibrations your way."

Moonchild Sanelly, whose real name is Sanelisiwe Twisha, had a few lows in 2023. She was taken to hospital in March after collapsing. She was treated for COVID-19.

Moonchild Sanelly revealed in May that she had to start from scratch after losing millions. The singer made the remarks after Makhadzi opened up about her struggles with her record label.

"Sending my love to @MakhadziSA You’ve got this, boo. They cleaned out my millions in SA, and I just bought a house, having started from scratch again," IOL quoted her as saying.

Despite the setbacks, Moonchild Sanelly also had a lot of highs. She performed at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California, USA.

She was also invited to perform at Lollapalooza Berlin and Afro Nations' Afrobeats festival in Portugal.
