It's been three months since a stroke put the brakes on Lira's music career, but the star is doing so much better and can now speak.

The 43-year-old took to Instagram on Thursday to share an update on her health and the progress she has made.

"I’ve made such awesome progress- I’m proud of myself and I give thanks to God. Your prayers have been massively appreciated. I can talk now, although I need a little patience. I can read and I can write," she wrote.

The 'Something Inside So Strong' hitmaker also thanked her fans for their continuous support.

"So much love for me, makes me emotional. I am doing so well!"

Lira's friends and followers are thrilled that she is making good progress.
