Kerishnie Naiker shares recovery update after nasty fall
Updated | By Entertainment Reporter
One year ago, Kerishnie Naiker was wheeling herself out of rehab and into a wheelchair-friendly home.

Miss South Africa 1997 Kerishnie Naiker is still recovering from a freak accident in May 2024.
Naiker was seriously injured when a tourist reportedly backed into her while trying to get the perfect shot at a hot spot in Cape Town.
"She tried to get the lighthouse in focus and took one step too far. Even though I am thankful that I did not injure my head and remained compos mentis to get Netcare911 to favourably intervene, I did incur a serious injury," the beauty queen explained last year.
She could not walk properly after the accident and needed the assistance of a wheelchair.
One year later, Naiker continues to heal, but remains optimistic about life.
The health activist shared footage of herself being wheeled out of a rehab facility in June last year and into a wheelchair-friendly home.
"Exactly a year later to the day, I began another chapter while physio and recovery continue. Adaptability is an art and an advantage," she wrote.

Naiker says she is "ever grateful" for all the love and support she has received during her recovery.
"The focus has not once been on the negligent, self-addicted tourist, rather being solution-driven and healing."
Naiker revealed in a separate post earlier this month that she only has 28% sports functionality.
"Long way to go," she captioned a video of herself dancing to Lauryn Hill's 'Killing Me Softly with His Song'.
She continues to undergo rigorous physio, and something as simple as curling her toes is not as easy as it used to be.
"I'm thankful not to have suffered a spinal cord or brain injury. I'm grateful to have legs & feet... Healing continues & I'm appreciative of access to resources."
Throughout her healing journey, Naiker has urged her followers to embrace reality and called on them not to be obsessed with social media.
