Award-winning rapper Kanye West is planning to buy social media platform, Parler.

The announcement was made by parent company, Parlement Technologies, on Monday.

This comes after Kanye was restricted several times on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for violating the company’s policies based on his alleged anti-Semitic posts.

According to Sky News, Parlement Technologies said it had reached an agreement in principle with the star to sell the platform.

"Parlement Technologies is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement in principle for Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, to acquire the Parler platform.  The acquisition ensures Parler a future role in creating an uncancelable ecosystem where all voices are welcome," reads a statement on the platform.

Parler has only recently returned to Google Play and Apple music after is was removed due to content put on the platform.

It was taken down from Google Play when it was claimed that some of its remarks encouraged "ongoing violence in the US" in 2021.

Apple also removed the app from its platform. According to CNBC, this was 'because posts on the pro-Trump social network related to the U.S. Capitol riot last week called for violence'.

Kanye recently joined the social media platform. He wrote: "In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial, we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves."
