John Legend has announced the birth of his third child with his wife, Chrissy Teigen. The 'Wonder Woman' singer shared the exciting news during a private concert.

John told attendees that the new addition to the family was born on Friday, January 13.

"What a blessed day," the 43-year-old said, according to PEOPLE magazine.

The Grammy Award winner and his model wife have two other children together, Luna (6) and Miles (4). John did not share any other details about the couple's new baby.

The baby's arrival comes two years after the couple suffered a tragic pregnancy loss. She lost her unborn son Jack at around 20 weeks.

"We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.," she wrote on Instagram in October 2020.

At the time, Chrissy said she had suffered a miscarriage. But in 2022, she revealed that she later realised that the "delivery" was a life-saving abortion

"Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Jack, John, and my third child, I had to make a lot of difficult and heartbreaking decisions. It became very clear around halfway through that he would not survive, and that I wouldn't either without any medical intervention, " The Hollywood Reporter quoted her as saying at an event hosted by Propper Daley.

She added: "Let's just call it what it was: It was an abortion. An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put that together until, actually, a few months ago."

Chrissy developed partial placenta abruption during the pregnancy. She had always had placenta problems and had to deliver her son Miles "a month early because his stomach wasn’t getting enough food from my placenta".

But she had never suffered an abruption before her pregnancy with Jack. Despite feeling anxious about her latest pregnancy, Chrissy remained positive.

"The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again. 1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way... " the 37-year-old announced last year.

Chrissy added that she waited to announce her pregnancy as she felt nervous.

"Every appointment I’ve said to myself, 'ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce' but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing."

They finally have their bundle of joy in their arms!
