Jada Pinkett Smith has shared an update on her battle with alopecia. The 51-year-old took to Instagram this week to share a before and after picture of her hair journey.

The first image showed Jada with a bald head - a look that has become her signature over the past few years. Her most recent picture shows significant hair growth.

"This here hair is act’n like it’s try’n a make a come back. Still have some trouble spots but — we’ll see," she captioned the post.

Jada first opened up about her alopecia diagnosis during an episode of her 'Red Table Talk' show in 2018.

"It was terrifying when it first started. I was in the shower one day, and then just handfuls of hair just in my hands. I was like, 'Oh my God, am I going bald?'" she said on the show.

Jada also revealed in a separate episode that she felt a huge sense of relief when she decided to shave off all her hair.

"It was that moment, I was just like, ‘I’m done. I’m done with the worry, I’m done with the care. I’m just done’."

Jada's alopecia became a worldwide discussion in 2022 when her husband, Will Smith, slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars.

"Jada, I love you. GI Jane 2, can't wait to see you,” the comedian said in reference to Jada's bald head. Will appeared to laugh at the joke at first, but the mood changed when he saw the look on Jada's face.

He walked on stage and smacked Chris in front of the audience - and millions of people watching live from home. Will was banned from Oscars ceremonies for 10 years.

Will was "deeply remorseful" for his actions and issued an apology.

Jada is gearing up for the release of her memoir, 'Worthy'. The book will be released in October.

Her fans are hoping she will share details about non-traditional marriage, her relationship with Tupac, and her alopecia journey.
