Jackman’s tough Wolverine diet
Updated | By Anisa

Hugh Jackman displays some serious rippling muscles in his new movie, The Wolverine. Here’s how he did it...
He plays a superhero on the big screen but Hugh Jackman has some pretty impressive superpowers himself: he can drink litres and litres of water in a single day.
Director James Mangold decided that Jackman had to be even bigger for the new film. Speaking to the Aussie paper, The Post, Jackman says: "I think this is the best or closest to the way that I imagined the character."
Just before he filmed his shirtless scenes, Jackman went on a dehydration diet, guzzling up to four gallons of water every day for a week. Then he'd stop drinking all liquid for 24 hours.
"You can lose up to 10 pounds of water weight, particularly the water that sits under your skin," Jackman says. "It really cuts you up."
The actor also trained for months, working out three hours a day over two sessions. He got advice from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who told him to pack away 6,000 calories in lean meat, fish and veggies every day.
