How is this legal? Trisha Paytas’ latest baby name causes a stir

Trisha Paytas wanted to name her new baby Water Snake, but settled on an equally eyebrow-raising moniker.

Internet personality Trisha Paytas has announced the arrival of her third child, and the newborn's name is causing a stir online.

"Happy to announce the safe and happy arrival of Aquaman Paytas-Hacmon," a post on her 'Just Trish' podcast page read.

The social media star named her child after the DC Comics superhero Aquaman, who Actor Jason Momoa played in the latest Aquaman movies.

Paytas and her husband, Moses Hacmon, announced the name on her podcast. She reveals the water holds a special meaning to their family. It's also the Year of the Snake, which made them even more determined.

"I was like, we should just name the baby Water. I loved Water Snake; it was so close," Paytas said.

"Poor kids, honestly, I’d change my name the second I became of age," an Instagram user wrote. Moses Jr. was also an option, but that was clearly too ordinary for the couple.

Aladdin was also on the shortlist.

She says Aquaman was the perfect name and was further convinced when they visited the doctor's office and saw a poster from the movie hanging on a wall.

"I have been wearing Aquaman t-shirts for years, since 2017 when the first 'Justice League' came out. I have gone to so many ComicCons for Aquaman."

Her husband added: "And he came with a splash."

Social media users were surprised by the name choice, and not pleasantly.

"I know Trish has some pretty wild names, but Aquaman shocked me. I was not prepared for Aquaman, but slay diva," one YouTube user commented.

Another YouTuber said: "He is going to be a fully grown man one day named Aquaman."

Instagram users also were not feeling the name. "Why do people keep doing this to their children?"

A second person asked: "How is this legal?"

Some joked that her baby is Ozzy Osbourne reincarnated. The Black Sabbath singer died on Tuesday at the age of 76, the same day she announced her baby's arrival.

"Welcome back, Ozzy."

Some even questioned Paytas' sanity, slamming her and other celebrities for giving their children weird baby names.

Paytas and Hacmon's two younger children have equally unique names: Malibu Barbie and Elvis.

Nara Smith, who recently announced that she is expecting her fourth child, is also known for weird baby names.

Her three children are named Rumble Honey, Slim Easy and Whimsy Lou.

We can't imagine what baby #4 will be called!
