And the winner is... Thuso Mbedu has bagged a major award for her role as Cora in 'The Underground Railroad'.

 Thuso Mbedu won 'Breakout Star' at the 2021 Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards.

The South African actress was recognised for her role in 'The Underground Railroad'. 

Thuso plays a runaway slave named Cora Randall in the American series. Academy Award-winner Barry Jenkins brought the Pulitzer Prize winning-novel to life for Amazon Prime. 

"Thank you very much to the HCAcritics for this special recognition. UGRR has been an amazing journey from start to finish. Thank you to every single person who has walked this journey with me," Thuso wrote on Twitter.

Thuso's big win comes a few days after she was unveiled as one of the cover stars for W magazine's 'Pop' issue. 

Stars such as Kate Moss, Rihanna, and Scarlett Johansson have featured on the American fashion magazine's cover in the past.
