Blue Origin's all-female spaceflight made history this week, but many, including model Emily Ratajkowski, gave the mission some major side-eye.

Katy Perry and Gayle King joined four other women on a trip to space on Monday.

They reached the Kármán line and experienced weightlessness for a few minutes before returning to Earth. While no figures are available for the 11-minute journey, it likely cost millions of dollars.

According to Ratajkowski, that money would have been better spent elsewhere.

“That space mission... that’s end time s***. This is beyond parody," she said in a video shared on TikTok.

“Saying that you care about Mother Earth, and it’s about Mother Earth, and you’re going up in a spaceship that is built and paid for by a company that’s single-handedly destroying the planet?”

Tech billionaire Jeff Bezos founded Blue Origin in 2000. Monday's trip was its 11th human spaceflight.

Ratajkowski says she is "literally disgusted" by the mission.

“Look at the state of the world and think about how many resources went into putting these women into space. For what? What was the marketing there? And then to try to make it like … I’m disgusted. Literally, I’m disgusted,” the 33-year-old said.

Actress Olivia Wilde also criticised the spaceflight.

"Billion dollars bought some good memes, I guess," she wrote on Instagram Stories.

Olivia Munn also voiced her concerns several days before the trip.

"I know this probably isn’t the cool thing to say, but there are so many other things that are so important in the world right now,” the actress said on the 'Today With Jenna and Friends'.

“What are you guys gonna do up in space? What are you doing up there? I know this is probably obnoxious, but like, it’s so much money to go to space, and there’s a lot of people who can’t even afford eggs.”

Journalist and pilot Lauren Sánchez, who was also on the flight, reacted to criticism.

"I would love to have them come to Blue Origin and see the thousands of employees that don't just work here, but they put their heart and soul into this vehicle. They love their work and they love the mission, and it's a big deal for them," she told People

Sánchez, who is engaged to Bezos, added that she would love for more people to experience what they did.

“When we hear comments like that, I just say, 'Trust me. Come with me. I'll show you what this is about, and it's, it's really eye-opening.'"

King told the publication that "anybody that’s criticising" the spaceflight "doesn’t really understand what is happening here".
