Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters represented South Africa at the United Nations General
Assembly in New York.

Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters flew SA's flag high - literally - at an event in honour of Madiba in New York.
The reigning Miss Universe attended the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit held at the United Nations General Assembly.
"Grateful for the opportunity to represent my country, South Africa," Demi-Leigh wrote on Instagram.
The 23-year-old carried a small South African flag with her and proudly waved it around for all to see.
Demi also attended the unveiling of a statue in Nelson Mandela's honour. The statue was a gift from SA to the United Nations.
