Award-winning radio presenter and voice-over artist Carol Ofori continues to captivate audiences.

'The Carol Ofori Podcast', which is proudly produced by East Coast Radio, has been recognised on Spotify's '2023 in Podcasts' wrap.

Her emotional interview with Lynn Forbes - the mother of slain rapper AKA - featured on the 'Standout Episodes of 2023' list.

Carol interviewed Lynn on episode five of her podcast, which aired in May. The heart-to-heart conversation took place shortly before Lynn marked her first Mother's Day after her son's death.

"I have never felt pain like that ever in my life before. I still feel that pain. I wake up every morning and it is just a confirmation that I will never hear his voice again," she told Carol.

Season two of 'The Carol Ofori Podcast' wrapped this month with an interview with Olympic gold medalist Caster Semenya

The 800-metre world champion released her highly anticipated memoir, 'The Race To Be Myself', in 2023.

Caster's book, which details the highs and lows of her career, aims to inspire others to be bold, unafraid, and, most importantly, to love themselves.

During their interview, Carol asked the question: What is Caster Semenya's fight all about?

"Podcasting has been a new journey for me, and I’ve absolutely loved every second of it. The incredible people we have spoken to over the past two seasons have not only shaped the way I’ve thought, but my audience has really loved the engaging thought-provoking conversations. I look forward to more seasons and more accolades,” says Carol.

"In season two, The Carol Ofori Podcast featured a range of high-profile guests. Yet what truly sets it apart is the genuine and captivating stories shared by guests from from all walks of life. Carol has a wonderful knack for skillfully uncovering her guests' stories and experiences in these conversations," said Kagiso Media Radio Head of On Demand Content, Diane Macpherson.

'The History of South Africa with Des Latham' featured on two lists.

'A Geology Excursion and Southern African pre-history – Wealth Hidden in Ancient Rocks' was mentioned on the 'Standout Episodes of 2023' list.

Des' podcast appeared on the 'Popular Podcasts' list alongside Nicole Engelbrecht's 'True Crime South Africa'. Des and Nicole are in good company as 'What Now? with Trevor Noah' and 'The Joe Rogan Experience' also made the list.
