Bujy featured in MTV GVB campaign despite altercation with Boity

Outrage has been expressed over the inclusion of media personalities Bujy Bikwa and musician Big Zulu in MTV's new documentary series on gender-based violence.
Twitter was up in arms on Tuesday morning after news broke that Bujy, who was previously accused of assaulting Boity, will be featuring in a new MTV documentary that will be tackling gender-based violence.
In 2021, a photo went viral showing Boity leaving a hotel in Midrand covered in blood after Bujy allegedly threw a bottle of alcohol at her. The bottle reportedly left a cut on Boity's face. Bujy spent a night in jail after being arrested for assault, however, he was later released on bail.

Tweeps have been left asking how Bujy is now part of those who will be featuring in the doccie series while he was an alleged perpetrator.
Another featured celebrity who has left Tweeps feeling furious is Big Zulu. The artist was arrested in 2018 after an assault charge was made against him for allegedly attacking his baby mama. According to Sowetan, the rapper allegedly grabbed his baby mama by the throat and threw her on the floor three times at their rented flat in Newtown, Joburg. He was also arrested in 2020 for assaulting his girlfriend.
The new GBV documentary is coming in March.

Bujy should be nowhere near that show , it’s like having a paedophile on a kiddies show. How can you bring someone who literally hit a woman with a bottle , to a show about gender based violence? It’s bad taste to be honest.

So the production is just going to look away the fact that Bujy assaulted Boity!!

As if that's not enough, they give him a platform that addresses GBV..

MORE FROM ECR
In other countries, isolated incidents are a trigger for survivors of GBV. On the other hand, SA as a whole is just a trigger. Its a structural and institutionalized trigger. People actually sat down and thought this was a good idea?
