Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is living her dream life after being crowned Miss Universe 2017

The 22-year-old moved into her new apartment in New York this week, and she couldn't be more excited.

"My home for the next year," she captioned a picture of herself outside the building.

The beauty queen will be paid a monthly salary while carrying out her Miss Universe duties over the next year, and will receive lots of freebies from pageant sponsors.

As if winning an international title, and moving to 'The Big Apple', isn't exciting enough, Demi-Leigh got to tick off another thing off her bucket list.

"Eating NY cheese cake on a bench in Times Square.... Bucket list item," she wrote on Instagram.

The Western Cape beauty has been busy with a press tour following her win, and news outlets like Inside Edition and E! News are queuing up to interview her.

She also featured on popular US show, 'Good Morning America', on media day one.

Here's a look at what life has been like for Demi-Leigh since winning Miss Universe on Sunday.
