Barbra Streisand talks song with Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande
Updated | By Music Reporter
The music icon says her new song with Mariah and Ariana became a vehicle for three strong-willed women to join in voice and purpose.

Barbra Streisand thanks Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande for "lending their talent" to her new song.
The trio's collaboration, 'One Heart One Voice', is the latest song to be released from Streisand's 'The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two' album.
The project is a duet album, but she made an exception for her song with Carey and Grande.
"When the idea of recording a song with Mariah and Ariana was first suggested, it felt inevitable that it would speak to female empowerment," Streisand said on Instagram.
The 83-year-old says the song's lyrics, ‘we’ve got every right to make a choice', resonated with her.
"The song became a vehicle for three strong-willed women to join in voice and purpose. Thank you to both @mariahcarey and @arianagrande for lending their talent and sharing this special moment with me."
Streisand shares more details about the track in a 'Behind the Song' video shared on YouTube this week.
The American singer-songwriter says that when the idea of the trio recording a song together came about, it was "inevitable" that it would address female empowerment.
Carey and Grande also spoke about their contribution to the single.
"Ever since I was a little girl, I've always loved Barbra. So, when I got a chance to work with her on 'One Heart, One Voice', it was a huge honour," Carey said.
Carey also praises her for breaking through the glass ceiling.
Grande adds that Streisand has always been a part of her life.
"I went to go see Barbra with my mom, and we made it into the concert DVD somehow. We've come a long way from being in the audience to collaborating on the album," the ‘Yes, and?' hitmaker said.
"She paved the way for women to be directors and to hold their own in the recording studio and be more than just the artist, or the voice or the actress. "
‘The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two' was released on June 27.
It is Streisand's 37th studio album. High-profile guest artists include Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Sting, Josh Groban, Seal, Hozier, and Sam Smith.
Streisand's new song with Carey and Grande below has received rave reviews.
"This song feels like it belongs in a Disney movie. Three generations of women defeat all odds. So warm, touching, and magical," a YouTuber commented.
A second wrote: "Ariana is really a princess, Mariah, the queen and Barbra our mother."
