President Jacob Zuma was speaking at the IEC's National Results Operation Centre in the west of Pretoria from where tomorrow's municipal elections will be monitored.

"The process is so transparent that everyone has an opportunity to look at. So I'm very happy that I think I can now say without any fear of contradiction that we are ready for elections. All that is left is for the voters to vote properly," he said.

The centre's first high profile visit earlier today was from EFF leader Julius Malema.

Malema read out a statement on behalf of his party.

"On the eve of election day, we take this opportunity to express gratitude to the people of South Africa in one of the longest election campaigns since 1994. We thank all those who opened their homes, places of fellowship, classrooms and the activates who came in to share manifesto and its commitment. since the launch in Orlando," he said.
