EFF concedes elections defeat
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
The EFF has conceded defeat in this year's local government elections while congratulating parties who have done well.

It was the first time the EFF contested municipal elections in the country as the party is only three years old. Party president, Julius Malema, says they did not meet the targets they had set for themselves.
Malema says they had hoped to win some municipalities but only managed to gain control of eight of the 4 000 wards nationally.
"We are here to accept the results and congratulate all those who have won. We are not engaging in any talks or doing anything extraordinary - my coming here is to accept defeat and say to the fighters 'well done, let us soldier on'", he said.
"From here we will see what happens afterwards. If any anyone comes to us we will talk, but we are not doing anything. Elections are over," Malema said.
The party has however shown growth - increasing their votes in this election by 2 million
