Yesterday evening, the tally was 215 750 litres of clean water since the WaterShare drive began on Tuesday.

The Pinetown team from logistics company UTI donated 5000 litres of water today.

The company's Nadira Bajnath says when they found about the campaign, it was an easy decision to get involved.

"We obviously want to assist and whenever there is a need for us to assist in the community, we always put our hands up and do whatever we can," she said.

Bottled water supplier, Verve joined forces with the Oyster Box hotel to give a total of 3 500 bottles of water.

Verve Water's Guy Dudley says water is a crucial part of daily living.

"Our business is water and we definitely know that if there's no water, there's no business. The importance of water for us is a big thing and we sympathise with the people who don't have it, " he said.

Chef Kevin Joseph from the Oyster Box hotel says it's important for communities with better access to water to help those without.

"Being at the Oyster Box is all about the luxury and privilege and we take it for granted that when you open the tap, water is going to be there. It's a sad thing to see that people are doing without it," he said.
