Sasco in support of protesting UKZN workers
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
Sasco has thrown its weight behind workers striking at all five of University of KwaZulu-Natal's campuses for better working conditions.

Deputy chairperson, Ngcebo Mazibuko says the SRC will hold talks with the protesters before approaching university officials.
"As an organisation we are in full support of that because we believe that the working class should be taken care of, the working class should be respected and the role that they are playing in the university should be awarded accordingly," he said.
Workers have been on strike for almost a week demanding an end to outsourcing.

They want to be hired directly by the university rather than contractors whom they accuse of pocketing almost half of their monthly salaries.
Meanwhile at the Durban University of Technology registration is going smoothly and the academic programme is expected to commence on Monday.
