The South Gauteng High Court has today heard the case between the NFP and the IEC.

The IEC is challenging the decision by the IEC to disqualify it from the municipal elections.

The IEC has argued the NFP did not pay the necessary fees to contest elections on time.

NFP national chairperson Bheki Gumbi says they are confident the judgment which will be announced anytime today will rule in their favour.

"The court adjourned and reserved its decision. It will be communicated in due course but hopefully during the course of th day.

"It will be today, they will tell us what to do but based on the arguments we are very hopeful and positive that the decision of the judge will also include us to participate.

"but if it does not than as leadership we will discuss with members and discuss which way to go," he said.

Gumbi says party members camping outside court till a decision is made.

"Membership has been addressing those who are here. They don't even want to leave the court because they want the decision now so they will know what to do.

"We are trying to engage them and advise them to see the importance of loosing the plea so that we will/wait and we will communicate the decision, maybe through the media we will call a meeting through the structures of the party," he said.
