KZN Treasury encourages future chartered accountants
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The KwaZulu-Natal Treasury says there's a dire shortage of chartered accountants in the province with even fewer in the public sector.

Speaking ahead of a press conference at the Durban Elangeni Hotel today, spokesperson Musa Cebisa says that they're looking for more passionate chartered accountants.
Treasury also aims to assist municipalities to manage their budgets better in an effort to help them achieve clean audit reports.
Cebisa says that the provincial MEC for Finance, Ms Belinda Scott, along with the SA Institute of Chartered Accountants will today deliberate on ways of grooming future CA's.
"Let me mention that around 2013 as part of our investment, Thuthuka Bursary Fund that is managed by SACIA, KZN Treasury encourages the increase of qualified, matriculated students and who did well in mathematics and related subjects to take up accounting. These pupils will be given bursaries," he said.
