Former KZN Premier, Senzo Mchunu, has rejected the redeployment offer from the ANC to become an MP in National Assembly.
Earlier last week, Mchunu confirmed that he was stepping down as Premier of the province after reported pressure from the ruling party to resign and vacate his office.
His spokesperson, Nontuthuko Mchunu, says Mchunu will be at home resting.
"He has decided that he wants to take a breather for a while, just to relax. He has been working for many years and it is just one of those things where you need to catch up with you sleep and be good to your body," she said.
"So I guess in his resting he will be pondering what his next move will be," Mchunu said.
