The Weeknd's 'Save Your Tears' wins the IFPI Global Digital Single Award

It's only the beginning of the year, but The Weeknd has already secured another win!

The Weeknd has become the first artist to win the IFPI Global Digital Single Award two years in a row.
The star's single, 'Save Your Tears', won the 2021 IFPI Global Digital Single Award.
He was also the 2020 winner with his single, 'Blinding Lights'.

According to IFPI, the award is given to the world’s best-selling single of the year across all digital formats. These include paid subscription streaming, ad-supported platforms, and single-track downloads and streams.
'Save Your Tears' was released in 2020 and comes from the album, 'After Hours'.
According to IFPI, the single topped charts globally and has been certified Platinum in 14 markets, spanning three continents.
It has over 700-million views on YouTube with 5.7-million likes.

Earlier this year, The Weeknd's latest album, 'Dawn FM', ranked number one on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart.
It is the artist's fifth studio album and contains 16 songs.
