'Spend It': Summer Walker releases new song and music video
You can keep your heart because Summer Walker only wants your black card after being burned by love.
R&B singer Summer Walker has released a new single ahead of her third studio album.
The 29-year-old dropped 'Spend It', a "sultry, unapologetic anthem", this week.
"Spend it on me/ Go right ahead and spend it on me/ Go right ahead and spoil me, baby/ Buy back my love/ Keep those sweet nothings from mе/ They don't mean nothing to me/ Diamonds and pеarls/ I'm that type of girl now/ I want your black card, you can keep your heart," she sings.
The track's music video features a few familiar faces. Angela White, formerly known as Blac Chyna, plays one of Walker's accomplices in a heist.
Actor Eric Roberts plays a wealthy man hosting a private poker game at his Bel-Air mansion, while Gail Bean, Miracle Watts, and Brandee Evans also appear.
Joanne the Scammer also makes a special guest appearance.
"Summer makes it clear: love comes second to luxury this time around. With 'Spend It,' Summer flips the narrative on romance, trading emotional depth for material clarity. It's a song about power, pain, and pleasure—wrapped in silk, laced with satire, and set to a hypnotic R&B groove. She's venting, but she's over it," a statement about the song reads.
"Rather than heartbreak, she's leaning into what she can gain: control, luxury, and a little bit of revenge. In a world where love has let her down, she's not asking for it—she's charging for it."
'Spend It' is the second song released from her upcoming album, 'Finally Over It'.
'Finally Over It' is the third and final project in Walker's trilogy, which began with her debut album, 'Over It,' in 2019 and was followed by 'Still Over It' in 2021.
"'Spend It' introduces fans to a new era of Summer—an era inspired by over-the-top glamour and hyper-femininity... In this album, Summer walks away from past cycles and into a fantasy version of the life she's creating for herself—where heartbreak becomes art, and the past is finally paid in full."
