Sam Smith gives electrifying performance at MTV EMAs

Singer Sam Smith wowed at the MTV Europe Music Awards, which took place over the weekend. 

The ‘Lay Me Down’ hitmaker took to the stage dressed in denim. 

He gave a stellar performance of his latest single, ‘Diamonds’.

"Honestly this is everything we’ve ever needed. This should be the official music video," wrote YouTube user Justin Toliver. 

"I am so proud of them. Their performance was iconic omg," wrote another user. 

Smith's 'Diamonds' is taken from the album 'Love Goes', which was released on October 30. 

The album didn't do as well as expected. According to Daily Mail, it only sold 20,000 copies within a week of release. Although this seems like a big number, Smith's 2017 hit, 'The Thrill Of It All', sold 97,000 within the first week. 

Apart from Smith, other artists who performed at the MTV EMAs were Jack Harlow, Alicia Keys, Tate McRae, DaBaby, Karol G, David Guetta, Maluma, Doja Cat, YUNGBLUD, Zara Larsson, Little Mix, Madison Beer, Why Don't We, and 24kGoldn.
