Miley Cyrus has settled her legal battle with Jamaican dancehall artist Flourgon who accused the pop star of lifting a lyric from one of his tracks for her 2013 hit ‘We Can’t Stop’.

The Jamaican star whose real name is Michael May sued Miley back in 2018 claiming Cyrus's team of writers lifted his 1998 song “we run things, things don’t run we” lyric.

Cyrus's lawyers had arguments as to why the claims were invalid however the magistrate handling the case considered that May's claims were compelling.

The song in question was high in the ranks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 2. It was kept out of the top sport by Robin Thicke's Blurred Line which is also subjected to a lawsuit.

There are claims that last month an out of court settlement has been reached confidentially and papers were filed requesting that the case be dismissed with prejudice.

Miley has yet to make any comments regarding the lawsuit.
