Lizzo considers quitting music career due to social media hate

Lizzo says all the body-shaming comments she keeps reading about herself on social media are making her want to quit music. “The Love definitely do not outweigh the Hate on social media".

Musician Lizzo is tired of all the hate she has been receiving on social media because of her weight. 

The the four-time Grammy winner took to Twitter to talk about how the social media bullying is getting to her. 

Her remarks followed a YouTube user's criticism of Lizzo's diet and weight in a clip of Lizzo paying tribute to the late Tina Turner. 

Lizzo quote tweeted the video and explained how the mean comments are starting to make her hate the world. 

“I just logged on the app and this is the type of sh*t I see about me. It’s really starting to make me hate the world,” she wrote.

The pop star said she was tired of having to explain herself to the world. 

"Then someone in the comments said I eat ‘lots of fast food.’ I LITERALLY STOPPED EATING FAST FOOD YEARS AGO.

 “I’m tired of explaining myself all the time and I just wanna get on this app w/out seeing my name in some bulls**t.”

The '2 Be Loved' hitmaker said she is not trying to change her body. 

“I’m not trying to be fat. I’m not trying to be smaller. I’m literally just trying to live and be healthy,” she wrote. 

“This is what my body looks like even when I’m eating super clean and working out! Y’all speak on sh*t y’all know NOTHING ABOUT, and I’m starting to get heated.”

She added that all the hate is making her contemplate quitting music. 

“Y’all don’t know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F— FARM,” she wrote. 

In an Instagram post, Lizzo said: "I will never shut up about how difficult y'all make it for fat people to simply exist. Minding your business is *free*."
