Billie Eilish and Beyoncé bag Oscar nominations

Beyoncé and Billie Eilish have received their first-ever Oscar nominations.

The 94th Academy Awards will see two of music's biggest superstars facing off in the 'Music (Original Song)' category. 

Beyoncé and Billie Eilish have both been nominated in the category. Queen B was recognised for her inspirational song, 'Be Alive', which was recorded for the movie 'King Richard'. Songwriter Dixson co-wrote the track with the singer. 

'King Richard' has received several nominations at the 2022 Oscars, including 'Actor in a Leading Role' for Will Smith.

Billie Eilish is nominated for her hit single, 'No Time To Die', from the latest '007' movie. The 20-year-old co-wrote the song with Finneas O'Connell.

"Nominated for an OSCAR. Thank you SO much to @theacademy for this nomination!! it was an absolute dream to write a song for a @007 film and I’m so honored that it’s nominated. peak life experience. THANK YOU!!!" Billie wrote on Instagram.

Billie and Finneas won 'Best Original Song' at the 79th Golden Globe Awards in January. 

The other songs nominated in the 'Music (Original Song)' category are 'Dos Oruguitas' ('Encanto', Music and Lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda) and 'Down To Joy' (From 'Belfast', Music and Lyrics by Van Morrison).

Songwriter Diane Warren has also been nominated for 'Somehow You Do' from the movie, 'Four Good Days'.
