AKA nominated for 'Best International Flow' category at BET Hip-Hop Awards

AKA receives nomination at the 18th BET Hip-Hop Awards

The Megacy family is celebrating AKA being nominated for 'Best International Flow' at the 18th BET Hip-Hop Awards, as well as him winning 'Song Of The Year Award' at the DStv Content Creator Awards.

Congratulations are in order for South African rapper, AKA. 

Over the weekend, the late rapper was announced as one of the nominees at the 18th annual BET Hip Hop Awards. 

This is the 5th time the musician has been nominated at the BET Hip Hop Awards. 

The 'Lemons' rapper was previously nominated in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019. 

AKA is not the only South African rapper who was nominated from SA. K.O. has also been nominated under the 'Best International Flow' category.

AKA is up against Black Sherif (Ghana), Central Cee (UK), Gazo (France), J Hus (UK), Major Rd (Brazil), Ninho (France), Sampa The Great (Zambia), and Tasha & Tracie (Brazil).

The rapper's last album, 'Mass Country', was released  on 24 February, two weeks after he was murdered in Durban.

Just four months after release, the album was certified platinum. 

Last week, KwaZulu-Natal police said they have identified the firearm that killed the rapper.

On Saturday, 9 September, AKA won an award at the DStv Content Creator Awards. 

The star won 'Song Of The Year Award' for 'Lemons' featuring Nasty C.

His mom took to Twitter to celebrate the win. 

"Megacy you did it again! Thank you so much for voting and bringing  this one home! Thank you for keeping his legacy alive and creating memories for Kairo. We love and appreciate you. Legacy, Megacy, that’s all that matters,” she wrote on Twitter.
