Simple ways to improve the sound of your TV
Updated | By Lifestyle Reporter
You can have the quality sound you desire for your TV without having to spend thousands of Rands.
One of the things we love about going to the cinema is the amazing sound quality, but getting a similar sound quality from your big screen TV at home is almost impossible.
But before you spend thousands to improve the sound of your television set, you might want to investigate the affordable options available.
Adjust your TV sound settings
Your TV comes with default sound settings, but this doesn’t mean it's the best setting. Try and balance the bass, treble and other audio settings using your remote control.
The video below gives a guide on how to best set your TV to get the best audio.
Sound Bar speaker
A sound bar is an all-in-one speaker system that delivers high-quality sound. Slim in design, it won’t take up too much space and it can be placed directly in front of your TV set or mounted to the wall. You also don’t have to worry about ugly tangled wires everywhere.
We love the Mecer 2.1 Channel Sound Bar Speaker with Sub-Woofer available on ECR shop . It will provide you with powerful audio and it also comes with Bluetooth, standard & movie sound modes, and even has 3.5mm Stereo / coaxial/optical inputs.
Use your home-theatre or PC speakers
Connect your TV to your hi-fi, home-theatre or computer speakers to improve the sound.
Remember, where you place your speakers can affect the sound. Avoid placing the subwoofer into a corner or in semi-enclosed spaces as this will affect the sound it produces.
Ideally, place the front speakers one metre to the left and right of the TV and the centre speaker as near to the TV as possible.
Check out how to connect your speakers to your TV in the video below.
