Three ways to ensure perfect pasta every time
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Chef Nelson Makgakoa shares the secret to making the best pasta around.
Making pasta might seem simple, but many of us know that it is not that easy. It can come out too soggy or too hard.
So to ensure that you make the perfect pasta every time, we spoke to Chef Nelson Makgakoa.
Makgakoa says the secret to cooking the perfect pasta is that pasta should be cooked Al dente, which means crisp to the tooth. Another tip is to make sure you add oil, as oil loosens up the pasta.
For the perfect pasta, take a look at Makgakoa's tips below.
Ingredients
200g Pasta
Enough water to cover the pasta
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon oil
Method:
Bring water to the boil in a pot.
Add 1 teaspoon of salt to make the water salty.
Add 1 teaspoon of oil.
Stir in the pasta and cook for five to seven minutes until the pasta is cooked Al dente.
Remove from heat and put it in a colander or sieve and strain it.
Serve with sauce or use to make a delicious salad.
