You don't have to throw your bananas in the bin because they are too ripe. Here is how you can keep bananas fresh for longer.

Bananas are delicious and have many different uses. 

You can eat bananas on their own, use them in a shakes or use them to bake. 

According to Healthline.com, one regular-sized banana (126 grams) has:

Calories: 112

Fat: 0 grams

Protein: 1 gram

Carbs: 29 grams

Fiber: 3 grams

Vitamin C: 12% of the Daily Value (DV)

Riboflavin: 7% of the DV

Folate: 6% of the DV

Niacin: 5% of the DV

Copper: 11% of the DV

Potassium: 10% of the DV

Magnesium: 8% of the DV.

According to the site, bananas have been found to improve blood sugar levels, support digestive health, and may support heart health. 

However, even with all these benefits, bananas can only really be stored for 3 to 5 days before they go off. 

Therefore, in order to preserve them, the best way to make bananas last longer is to freeze them. 

Method: 

- Take your bananas apart.

- Remove the peel, because freezing the entire banana will darken the peels, and they’ll thaw poorly. 

- Cut the banana into half. 

- Place the sliced banana into a resealable airtight bags. 

- Put into the freezer. 

This will help your bananas last for a few more weeks.
