Many parts of South Africa are experiencing cold weather conditions at the moment.

Stews are a favourite dish around the world.  

On this cold day, you can enjoy beef stew with rice, pap, dumplings, or bread.

Let’s learn how to make garlic and celery beef stew.

Ingredients

1kg cubed beef stew meat. 

One full onion, chopped. 

4 Stalks celery, cut into thick pieces. 

1 Clove of garlic. 

2 Medium carrots, cut into thick pieces. 

2 Tablespoon chutney. 

1 Beef stew cube

Salt to taste. 

25 gram tomato paste. 

Aromat for seasoning. 

Enough water to cover the meat. 

Method:

Place the meat in a pot.

Add the onion, carrots, garlic, cube and cook for 30 minutes.

Add tomato paste, celery, chutney, salt and aromat. 

Allow to simmer for 15 minutes or until meat is tender.

Serve with your favourite side dish.
