Here are three great reasons to nourish yourself with plants this January by trying a plant-based diet.

1. A plant-based diet is naturally cholesterol-free! This means you could lower your risk of heart disease by going plant-based for January.

2. It requires more than 15,000 litres of water per day to produce food for a typical meat-eater, but only 1,100 litres to produce food for a typical vegan. That’s a whopping 13,900 litres less per day, which is equivalent to 92 showers!

3. You won’t miss out on getting your protein. There are so many good, versatile plant-based proteins – like meat alternatives from Fry’s – there’s really no need to feel deprived.
