Couscous is neither a grain nor a seed, but a form of pasta. It is made from a dry mixture of semolina and water.

Wholegrain couscous is rich in fibre which will keep you fuller for longer. Fibre is also great for lowering cholesterol.

The selenium in couscous is a powerful antioxidant that helps your body repair damaged cells and decreases inflammation, reports Healthline. It also helps reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in your body.

Couscous is a good source of plant-based protein which the body needs.

With all these benefits, there is no arguing that couscous is great, and this is why it is a staple and a favourite in many homes.
