Passenger hit by severe diarrhoea on plane, flight forced to turn back

A worst nightmare became a reality for passengers on a Delta flight recently.

Two hours into a flight from Atlanta, USA, to Barcelona, Spain, the pilot informed the 336 passengers that they were required to head back after someone on board suffered from an explosive case of diarrhoea, creating a mess throughout the plane.

As the incident was considered to be a 'biohazard', the pilot was, under protocol, required to head back.

A statement released by Delta reads: “Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to thoroughly clean the airplane and get our customers to their final destination. We sincerely apologise to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans."

Interestingly, this is not the only incident involving a Delta plane which has hit the news of late.

A week ago, Delta confirmed that 11 passengers and crew members were taken to hospital after they were subjected to a severe case of turbulence on a flight from Milan, Italy, to Atlanta, USA.
