Unfortunately, in such weather, children can’t play outside.

This can be a challenge for parents, especially if your children are at an age where they need to be entertained.

But don’t let the weather stop your family from having fun.

Let’s look at how you can entertain your kids at home on cold, rainy days.

Have fun in the kitchen

One of the best ways to bond with your children is through making food. Cooking and baking also heats up the home.

You can ask your children to choose which food they would like to learn how to cook and bake, and then get busy together. That way they get to see how their favourite foods are prepared.

You never know, this could even turn into a new family hobby!

Do schoolwork

Many children lost out on a great deal of schoolwork due to the coronavirus. You can use this time to help your children catch up.

There are some apps and internet programmes that can help with learning.

Find out cool educational apps by reading this article, '8 fun and educational apps to keep kids entertained'.

Read a book

Nothing beats a cup of tea or coffee and a good book on a rainy day. Encourage and develop a love for reading in your children by reading a book together as a family. Remember to pick a good children’s book.

If your children know how to read, let them do the reading while you listen. This will help improve their reading skills.

You can also buy playdough and let the young ones have fun by using their creativity to make shapes and animals. Let their imagination run wild.
