NGOs rally to assist KZN flood victims
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Organisations and residents are rallying support for the victims of the heavy rains and subsequent flooding in KwaZulu-Natal.
At least 51 people have been confirmed dead in the province since the start of the long weekend.
The South African Red Cross Society says it's deployed disaster relief experts and volunteers to affected areas.
The society says it's been providing shelter, meals, blankets and psycho social support to victims.
It's appealing for donations of hygiene kits, warm clothing, non perishable foods, blankets, tents, household items, mattresses, baby packs and clean water.
